It's been almost two years since I participated in the 'Skilled Facilitator Workshop' by Roger Schwarz and Associates. During those two years I have introduced the 'ground rules' technique to many senior executives and their leadership teams. The results of implementing Roger's technique into my work have been profound. My clients are experiencing real shifts in their communication skills and in their behaviors that can be directly attributed to the use of the 'ground rules'. Roger's front of the room facilitation skills are outstanding. Bar none! Simply being in the room with Roger and observing how he and his associates incorporate the 'ground rules' into the live dialogue is a profound learning lab in and of itself.

What do the members of a highly-functioning team actually say to each other? What are the patterns in their communication?

Our Ground Rules For Effective Groups are widely regarded as an important answer to that question. I've decided it's time to offer explicit learning focused on each of these, to help you decide if they're right for you and those you work with.

The Ground Rules for Effective Groups Teleclass Series will consist of eight teleconferences. The first of these is free and open to the public - I've designed it to give an overall introduction to the notion of group groundrules.

Starting in October, and running once per month, I'll be hosting in-depth teleclasses on individual Ground Rules. I encourage you to sign up for the entire series to maximize your learning; when used together, these groundrules are much more powerful than they are individually.

I designed this teleclass series to give a thorough and solid introduction to the Groundrules for Effective Groups, and to give you practice that is immediately applicable to your most challenging group situations.

What the Teleclasses Will Be Like

Your stories, opportunities and challenges will be the practice field. I'll share some key concepts – mostly via advance reading – and we'll quickly move into "clinic" mode, where we work together to make the material practical and meaningful for you.

We'll do all this in a fast-paced, focused way, and each class will be highly interactive. We're limiting participation to ensure this, and each teleclass will be 60 minutes long.

There will be a short written assignment before each teleclass, as well as some prereading. This will help us focus, in the call, on your learning and your real situations.

If you can't attend, you can purchase a recording of the entire class. If you choose this option, you will still receive all the supporting materials and assignments.
